Equine Assisted Development
Is An Amazing Tool for Self-Discovery and Personal Growth.

EQUINE ASSISTED DEVELOPMENT (EAD)

EAD is experiential learning that shows people the results of their thoughts, emotions, and behavioral patterns in real time.  As they go through activities and interact with the horses, the horses give them feedback about their ability to connect, communicate, and problem solve.

As they get this feedback, the horses generously allow them to change the choices that they're making and improve with each activity.

EAD CONSISTENTLY DELIVERS GREAT RESULTS IN HELPING:

  • Addiction & Trauma Support

  • Anxiety & Depression

  • Family/Marriage Challenges

  • Communication Skills

  • Conflict Resolution

  • Eating Disorders & Body Image

  • Self-Confidence & Decision Making

  • Leadership Development

What part of your personal or professional life would you like to experience differently?

What Is an EAD Session Like?

The EAD sessions are based around activities where participants interact with horses as they play games and solve puzzles.  The goals that are set during the games and puzzles represent real-world challenges that are meaningful to the participants, and the games provide a safe environment to practice life strategies and problem solving.

The work of our trained facilitators is to set up the exercises, maintain a safe environment, and lead group discussions where participants get to process and reflect on their experiences. However, the horses are the real stars of the show, as they provide coaching in a way that our human facilitators can't.

The activities are never scripted, the horses aren't trained to respond in a certain way, and the facilitators don't lecture or even choose the learning material.  The participants make up the details of each activity as they go (just like life!), and the horses do what horses do best.  They respond to each person as an individual with honest, relevant, and well-timed feedback based on that person's body language, emotions, the group dynamics, the environment, and the presence of any clear leadership.

EAD activities rarely involve riding the horses, so prior horse experience is not necessary or even desirable.  The power of EAD activities lies in the dynamic, unrehearsed interactions between the people and horses.  Every session is unique and offers participants an opportunity to leave with a fresh perspective, new ideas, and a memorable experience with some amazing four-legged teachers/entertainers.
