Adult Team Building & Leadership Training
This service is offered in the form of full or half day workshops. These are equine experiential learning sessions designed to improve self-knowledge, team work, confidence, goal setting, verbal and non-verbal communication, healthy conflict resolution, creative problem solving and relationship building.
In this era of fast paced living and technology, it's hard to escape the stressful effects of deadlines, competition and social pressures of all kinds. There's no doubt that times have changed, but people and horses have not. At the core, they're the same as they have been for thousands of years. Both have had to adjust and change with the times to survive while dealing with stress, changing environments and heightened self preservation.
In the case of humans, they tend to lose sight of the team in times of stress. It becomes an "every man for himself" scenario. With horses, every member of the group turns to the herd leader for direction. Horses survive by behaving as one unit and synchronizing with the actions of the leader for protection and guidance, without sacrificing their individual strengths or safety. Likewise, the herd leader watches out for his herd in times of danger by directing them to safety and fighting for the survival of the group.
Horses provide us with a shockingly honest view of how our leadership skills and team work measure up. They have no hidden agendas or rationalizations in any situation. There communications and actions are very black and white. Horses are large and often intimidating, and they won't be bullied into partnership. They're quick thinkers and quick movers, but they'll always give honest feedback and react in direct proportion to one's leading ability. Horses serve as incredibly unbiased mirrors, and are capable of teaching us about ourselves as well as the effect that we have on the teams with which we live and work.
Although this program utilizes the very same tools and principles as all Equine Assisted Development services, it is geared to the professional & active adult community. The other experiential learning services typically address the personal growth of an individual, while these sessions are specifically designed to treat a team as a unit.
Our facilitators are trained to see any given group as a unique entity and bring about realizations of its needs, strengths and challenges. Our insightful group of facilitators have personal experience in both the equine and corporate worlds, which allows them to set any group up for success.
For our Team Building sessions we also offer extras such as catered lunches and gifts bags to complete the experience. Our goal is to create a memorable experience with positive lasting results for every team.
